Also, I found that this clone comes close to the original with the inclusion of French dressing. It's an important ingredient—ketchup just won't do it. The "Special Sauce"
Ingredients
- 1/2 c mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp French dressing
- 4 tsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tbsp finely minced white onions
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
Instructions
- Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl
- Stir well
- Place sauce in a covered container and refrigerate for several hours, or overnight, so that the flavors blend.
- Stir the sauce a couple of times as it chills.
Yield: 3/4 cup
Everything Else and Assembly
Ingredients
- Hamburger (15% fat for grilling)
- Special sauce (see above)
- Lettuce
- American cheese slices
- Diil pickle slices
- Sesame seed bun (toasted)
Instructions
- BBQ or grill the meat.
- Lightly salt after flipping (optional).
- Assemble all ingredients on the toasted bun.
