Tim's Notes

This is a family recipe graciously shared by Kat. I haven't made or tested this yet, but hope to do so very soon in my new wok.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Pork roast sliced into strips
  • Medium onion sliced thinly
  • 2 ribs celery sliced thinly
  • Large carrot sliced in matchstick cuts
  • Clove garlic peeled and smashed
  • Slice of ginger
  • 2 handfuls bean sprouts washed and trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dry white wine
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 c water
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Directions

  1. Parboil carrots 1 minute- set aside
  2. Put oil in wok- lightly fry ginger and garlic for flavor.. remove and discard
  3. Add carrots, celery and onion.. lightly fry
  4. Add seasoned pork roast- fry until done
  5. Add bean sprouts- lightly fry
  6. Add cornstarch to water- add soy sauce, sugar, and starch water to wok- cook to # thickened.
  7. Serve on rice.
