Tim's Notes
Oops. Be advised, this recipe doesn't have bourbon. I will fix soon.
Ingredients
- 6 eggs, separated
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 qt whole milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
Steps
- Separate the eggs carefully, placing the yolks and whites in two different bowls.
- Beat the egg yolks and sugar with a whisk until fluffy.
- Add the milk and then the cream to the yolk mixture. Mix in any extracts if using, then refrigerate to chill.
- Beat the egg whites with a mixer or whisk until they form soft peaks. Do not overwhip.
- Pour the chilled yolk mixture into a serving bowl. Gently add the whipped egg whites on top and fold in.
- Spoon into mugs and sprinkle nutmeg on top. Serve.
